The 10 Best and Must Have iPod Touch Applications
Posted in iPod, Reviews, Software | By AhTim @ November 27th, 2008
Excited to search and install applications in my jailbreak iPod touch 2.1 firmware. To conclude the usefulness and fun of new iPod touch firmware, you must have the 10 best iPod touch applications. If not, your iPod touch is just like a boring media player.
Which are the 10 Best and Must have iPod touch applications? Here I list out mine. Add into comment if you want to append the list.
MxTube

MxTube is a Youtube video solution. It can stream Youtube videos just like the standard Youtube app. MxTube also allows you to download and save these videos to your iPhone. Simply search and download the video you’d like to view later and that’s it. You can watch all your videos directly from the MxTube app without conversion.
Docs

Docs is a new iPod Touch document viewing app. With Docs, you can view text files, Word .doc files, as well as Excel .xls and .pdf files. It also enhanced with zooming and scrolling capabilities.
dTunes

dTunes is an alternative media player to iTunes. You can play downloaded songs or movie without sync with a computer. It now support MP3 and MP4 multimedia files format and will be more. The best part is it integrate with Seeqpod and iTorrentRelay (with a small fee) that allow you to search and download songs and movie via torrent.
iTorrentRelay auto convert movie (.avi, .wmv) to iPod touch / iPhone playable format for download. This is what we call the real mobile media player!
WinterBoard

WinterBoard is like your desktop theme manager in iPod touch. It help to dress up your iPod. You may customize the look of your iPod.
Winterboard better than previous theme manager, Springboard. It apply your theme faster and easier. It allow you to set the priority of theme options and objects. Just drag to top sequence to set high priority. Higher priority override lower.
Monkey Ball

For as low as $8, you can purchase Super Monkey Ball in iTUnes. This Monkey Ball game really impress me. I may upgrade my iPod touch if I know this game earlier. SEGA utilize iPod touch advantage perfectly, including Multi-Touch, the accelerometer, real-time 3D graphics, and 3D positional sound.
I can’t believe iPod touch can play 3D game so smooth (without any lagging). Even a computer without good graphic card can’t do that. In the game, tilt iPod to move the monkey collect bananas as many as possible. It is not easy to control the monkey movement. But I’m sure you like it after use to the movement. It has 5 worlds and 110 stages, so won’t get you boring.
MazeFinger

Another amazing game special design for iPod. Use your finger to race the light to the exit. It has 200 levels with 1000 unique mazes.
Don’t think it is easy. It become shorter time and complicated mazes when go up the level. Most important is it is Free in iTunes. But Watch out! Don’t scratch your iPod touch screen.
Mobile Finder

A must have file manager for iPod. Use Mobile Finder to explore file system, open files, and launch applications. It also allow general file operation such as copy, move, delete, rename, etc.
Mobile Terminal

Mobile Terminal is a terminal emulator application for the iPod. It is useful when come to command line operation, eg: ping. If you are techie guy, I’m sure you don’t want to miss out this utility for manual OS and application configuration or system tweak.
OpenSSH

OpenSSH is free version of the SSH connectivity tools that allow us to communicate, execute command, access files remotely. You can’t transfer files directly to iPod touch without OpenSSH. In other words, your iPod is locked down without OpenSSH.
On PC side, you need a SSH client to establish the connection to iPod. OpenSSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords) and provides secure tunneling capabilities. No worry on password leaking or hacker.
Five Icon Dock

At but not least, Five Icon Dock make more space for your docking. Now I have these 5 sticky apps in dock. I can access them anytime no matter which page I go.
My two cents
Ok, that’s all for my 10 best and must have iPod touch applications. An iPod touch won’t be perfect without these 10 apps. Do you want to add more apps into the list? Please give me your comments.

after downloading a torrent from the web using safari you must then open “terminal” (which you can dload from cydia if you dont have) and type in ./gettorrent it should the start downloading you can then press the home button to continue wat ever , keep going back into terminal to check how much is left to dload , once dloaded it will save into dtunes where you will find it to play
