The website – Hosting Observer is a website that provide ratings for popular web hosting providers in the market. From there you can view available package all at-a-glance with information of provider, pricing, editor’s rating, and package details.

Not only that, it provide all other hosting plans (including email hosting, unlimited hosting, and how to get  free domain etc).

My Two Cents

Overall, it is a good site to help in decision making. But improvement still can be make to be more competitive.

The Good : The recommended web hosting package is really affordable and attractive. Website layout is simple and easy to navigate.

The Bad : The review is NOT transparent. To be fair and honest, it should open for public or registered user for voting. Definitely this will give more accurate results. The Article Directory is NOT really useful for newbies. Should publish practical tutorial for beginner who want to start a website. This will attract and benefit more readers!

I’ve shifted this blog hosting to Exabytes since last year August. I hope to become one of their happy client but couldn’t. Although the monthly uptime is more than 98% each month, I expect more since I’m Platinum package subscriber.

Until pass previous month (October 2010), first time received Pingdom monthly uptime report that reach 100%. And it continue to maintain 100% uptime till last month with fast respond time!

My brother asked my help to set up private web hosting server with a domain name. He want to have full control on the server instead of rent a web space.

Every domain name need a DNS server of the Web Hosting. In this case, my brother do not have a fix ip line so have to use dynamic IP address.

Set Up Dynamic IP Hosting

To set up private hosting with dynamic IP, DynDNS service is the easiest way. After register a free account, you’ll need to buy 2 products/services: Domain Name (.com,.org,.net) and Custom DNS.

Its domain name more expensive than others, $15 USD for one. The Custom DNS is far expensive than domain name, $27.5 for a year. Anyway, we got $5 USD discount and pay off total of $37.5 USD. However, there are other hosting providers that offer free domain names as part of their package.

For long term, it is cheaper but make sure you have backup plan on Data, Internet Connection, and Server. (more…)

Opps! Server down again!! My blog hosting service has been down since Tuesday night (3 nights). Error with ” This account has been suspend“. This is the 3rd time after I upgrade my web hosting package. Too bad!

The website and server monitoring tool really works. It informed me but I didn’t take any action. I thought it just normal server restart. After an hour, my blog still have not up. I contacted service provider via email, MSN, and SMS. They replied me via email but I’ve slept.

Your Account has been Suspended

I thought it was due to the service provider didn’t pay their bills. The error shows below.
