Yes, my wife got surprised by iPad 2 secret gift! This is my 2nd move as part of “convert PC to Mac plan” for my wife after bought and guide her how to use the Mac mini.

Why choose iPad 2 as secret gift? Our love story start from Internet 11 years ago (22 Oct 2000) when we started our first email, so I decided to send her this latest tech gadget – iPad 2 with iOS 5. I’ve add-on iPad Smart Cover and base dock to make it smarter. It could stand portrait, stand landscape, and lay down easily.

I purposely wait for iOS 5 release so that she can enjoy the freedom of independent iPad without need to connect to a computer.

Apple has just announced the long awaiting tablet device. The name change from iTablet to iSlate and finally officially announced as Apple iPad (not iPod huh). It is buzzing on the Internet these few days.

As expected, it is just a huge version of iPhone without phone call function. Of course t has bigger screen and faster processor, other than that I don’t see the reason to buy this gadget. Let’s go through the specs first:

• Processor: 1GHz Apple A4
• Display: 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit
• Capacity: 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB
• Connectivity: WiFi-n, Bluetooth 2.1, UTMS/HSDPA/GSM/EDGE (optional)
• Sensor: Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor
• Others: Digital Compass, A-GPS

The iPad is featuring 1Ghz Apple processor with nearly 10-inch screen with up to 1024×768 resolutions. Other than this, I can’t find more reason to buy it. Instead, I have 10 reasons why NOT to buy iPad! (more…)
