While it is natural to think that the first step to take when trying to choose a mobile ISP is to visit a mobile service provider and inquire about their services, it is probably the last step you should take. The first step you should take, instead, should be to consider your bandwidth usage; most people pay several times the amount they are supposed to pay for mobile internet access every month, and the reason for this is simple; they are paying for bandwidth they don’t need.

3G Broadband Internet Access

How do I survive as a Blogger for the whole week in Kuala Terengganu? Use dial up? too slow. Cyber Cafe? too tedious. Free wifi in KFC? Not everyday ok. :)

I blog and access Internet comfortably at home using 3G broadband. This is my first experience to enjoy the real freedom of 3G broadband. It is so easy to use, convenient and fast surfing speed. Although the broadband speed is only 384kbps, its more than enough for blogging.

How to use 3G Broadband ?

I didn’t subscribe 3G broadband myself. I borrowed from my sister in law. She subscribe to Celcom 3G broadband after bought Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop. The basic plan (RM68 monthly) by Celcom come with a USB cable and Huawei E220 HSDPA modem. It support up to 7.2Mbps but I don’t think it available in this area. (more…)
