A lot of good tips here. Also, if you click on the settings button before you clear the private data, you can choose which data to clear. That way, when you do it, you can still have Firefox remember form details and addresses you’ve typed in.

so far mine one the most also 200++ MB, and did not hit 300MB before, but already exceed my physical memory… haha

I have another trick to make firefox release memory when you minimize it.
-Type about:config in the address bar.
-Right click in the browser and select New->Boolean.
-In the popup box enter config.trim_on_minimize. Click OK. -Select True and then click OK. Restart firefox.
This trick reduce my firefox memory usage to around 20-30MB each time i minimize my firefox. Cool?
