Kubuntu Linux for Free Download

Many people thought Linux is not user friendly, hard to use. That is 10 years ago ok!
Latest Kubuntu (Ubuntu + KDE) v8.10 has better Graphic User Interface (GUI) than Vista. Its latest v9.04 beta is even cooler.
Best of Kubuntu is you can install any open source application by using Debian application database. It support Compiz, the 3D multiple desktop too! Sure you could not find it run so real time in Windows.
What’s New in Kubuntu?
Not sure if you know a 700MB CD could setup full Kubuntu operating system plus most of general software you use daily. For example, Open Office, KTorrent, Amarok player, etc. The latest Kubuntu integrate with KDE 4.2.1.
You can’t resist the desktop effect and performance speed with KDE. Let’s see some screen shot after jump. The KDE 4.2 logo itself make me excited.

Desktop enhancement: Significant refinements of Plasma and KWin, the KDE workspace. Now with many new and updated plasma widget. Do you feel the KDE GUI is better than Vista?

And we have better Amarok multimedia player. It is now integrate with online radio such as Last.fm and more.

There are more application upgrades and bug fixes, including QT4.5, KTorrent 3.2, Network Manager Plasma widget, etc.
You may download Kubuntu v9.04 (here) or stable version v8.10 (here). If not, wait until end of April 09 for final release.
My Two Cents
So have you change your mind to use Kubuntu Linux for your next laptop or desktop? It is FREE and full features out there. Of course might take you some time to familiar with the features, if you are pure Windows user.
I plan to use Kubuntu v9 as my main operating system on my new laptop soon. It will save me $300 (RM) from Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic.
PS: Will you use free open source Kubuntu on your personal computer or rather pay for Windows Vista?
