You have to set it to manual first. You can then put anything on your IPod you want and then put the autosync back on. This gets really annoying and I need to know how to stop itunes from removing my apps. Also, I cannot drag my apps from itunes into my iPod, so I have to redownload the apps directly onto my touch.
