Cheap Nintendo Wii Console
Posted in Interesting Stuff, Tech | By AhTim @ October 18th, 2008
We have seen lots of fake (or alike) phone in market. For example, a fake nokia alike phone named “Nokla”. I would say it is almost 90% similiar to the original set on its design. Of course less features for cheaper price. Most of them made in China. Copycat expert huh?
Yesterday, my wife and I went shopping after work. You know what I saw? I saw a fake cheap Nintendo Wii game console “WiNi” selling in the hypermarket. By looking at the photo ads (on right), I thought it is a Wii. Not only the colors are similar, even the remote control, font and shape are almost the same. It was first time I saw game console imitation.
Compare to the real Nintendo Wii console below, how many mark you give?

Fake Cheap Wii (WiNi) Game Console
The Wii alike game console named WiNi Sports Game. It is also a “wireless” game console, pretty cool huh? Not sure run on bluetooth, infrared or Wifi? No mention in specification. WiNi console integrated with 48 games. They are all 2D arcade games 20 years ago. The pre-loaded games are Bomba man, Tank, Olympics, Archery, etc. I still can remember most of the games I played on Nintendo during primary school.
WiNi no CD player. Suspect it use burn-in firmware for the games. The most important thing is it ONLY cost RM200! (~$60 USD) 10 times cheaper than Original Nintendo Wii console. Haha..
I saw the salesman played WiNi soccer game. It is on “wireless” remote control. But really sad on its lousy graphic.
The WiNi game console on rack.

Will you buy “WiNi” for your child to play with? Have you seen other fake or alike products in the market? I would like to hear from you in the comment.

I honestly grieve and sympathize with the manufacturers of such products….. The reason for being that its all good on our part that we get the much discounted product in comparison to the real pricey product…. But send out a thought to those manufacturers they too are incurring costs and that pricey tag is to cover those expenses. I mean clearly we are blinded by the price tag if we happen to get by a cheap Nintendo Wii. We fail to grasp that this new version, the Nintendo Wini maybe cheap because it probably might as well last for a couple of months and die out on you. Second, there is always a catch in such cheap duplicates and in this case it is the failed graphics. So if quality and value doesn’t bother a number of people…. I guess they might as well stick to the new Wini.

Honestly, will they ever stop making these cheap duplicates? I’ve seen a duplicate for GBA SP – and WiNi of course.(people my parents’ age wouldn’t know the fake from the real deal XD)
These type of games are a waste of money… I’m ashamed these things are sold in my country. (but then, so are cetak rompak games & CDs haha)
