Use Google or Yahoo Search Engine

The first step you should take when trying to find any information or service online is to use a reliable search engine and this particular step can also be followed when you’re looking for coupons to use with Yahoo services.

It can be almost impossible to give you a single coupon for all Yahoo products and services you want to use since there are different coupons for different products, but the good news is that there are various people online who have had success with one or more of these coupons, and as a result have listed it for others to use online.

Microsoft vs Yahoo! Merge or Conflict?

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Microsoft acquire Yahoo for $44.6 billions become hot topic of this year 2008. While everybody is discussing it, let’s see whether they are good match or conflict?

As we know, both giant companies above are in different sectors. Microsoft is more specific on apps while Yahoo is more specific on internet. If Microsoft bought over Yahoo!, what will be the outcome?

Merge or Conflict?

Portals: Yahoo! vs MSN

Yahoo! main strength is online content and indexing, hence MSN should not be able to replace Yahoo apps. Winner: Yahoo.

Search Engine: Yahoo! Search vs Live.com

Yahoo, the founder of internet search engine has 23% in search market share while Live.com only own nearly 10%. Winner: Yahoo.

Email: Yahoo! Mail vs Hotmail

Yahoo bought over OddPost and developing better Yahoo! Mail taht serve similar to desktop email application. Winner: Yahoo.

Photo Sharing: Flickr vs Live Spaces

Flickr has its independence application platform while Live Spaces was integrated into Live.com. Most users prefer Flickr. Winner: Yahoo.

Bookmarking: Delicious vs Listas

Ever heard of Listas? Thats it. Winner: Yahoo.

Instant Messaging: Yahoo Instant Messenger vs MSN Instant Messenger

Yahoo IM has a more flexible collection of interfaces to its platform, and has integrated into Yahoo! Mail. Winner: Yahoo.

So at last, is Microsoft take over Yahoo apps? Or the other way round?

My two cents

As a conclusion of mine, the $44.6 billions is an opportunity for Yahoo! but might be a threat for Microsoft. Anyway, from aspect of competing with the Google, Microsoft have make a good move to start its strategy monopoly the Internet world! :)
