MY iPhone 4 Plan: Digi or Maxis Better?

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

I should post this earlier, now has become a late news.  Two Malaysia big telco Digi and Maxis launched our long awaited iPhone 4G four days ago.

So at the end iPhone 4G has officially landed in Malaysia. Happy? Yes, for iPhone fans. But headache which plan to choose!

Digi or Maxis Plan?

First of all, compare to Singapore Apple this plan is not attractive. But first thing you must have a friend in SG that willing to keep the iPhone for you. If you have, then go for it at just SGD 888 (~RM2044) WITHOUT contract! If not, you have no choice to go for local Telco.

Look at Digi plan, iPhone 4G 16GB selling at RM2090 with monthly lowest plan RM58 for two years. The total cost will be (RM2090 + RM1392 {RM58x24}=RM3482). Of course the price include monthly unlimited Internet and 200 mins voice call.

Compare apple to apple, Maxis selling iPhone 4G 16GB at RM1390 with monthly lowest plan RM100 for two years. Hence the total cost is (RM1390 + RM2400 {RM100x24}=RM3790). The free local calls has longer time 333 mins with limited Internet bandwidth 1GB a month.

Haven’t receive notification from Maxis, but looks like they are ready to update their iPhone 4G page too. Let’s see who are the winner in iPhone 4G battle! Are you ready for it?

How to View Flash on iPhone?

Monday, May 31st, 2010

So you waited for so long wanted to view flash on iPhone, iPod touch or iPad?

Firstly, still no native Flash app for iPhone, yet. But there is workaround to make your iPhone able to “view” flash content, with help of 3rd party app – Cloud Browse.

What is Cloud Browse?

Cloud Browse is a service that provide a full desktop browser for iPod Touch and iPhones, including Flash and Java support.

In simple, it work like normal web browser. But running remotely and being streamed to the iPhone/iPod Touch. This mean you can start play flash video in vimeo, youtube, last.fm, etc.

It is available for free download with bandwidth limitations. Of course performance will be slow down. The paid version cost $10 USD a month grant with a full 30 frames per second of video streaming.

Download the free Cloud Browse at  iTunes App Store. I know it may not impress much, but is a cool thing to play flash on Apple mobile devices for the very 1st time! :)

iPad What So Special?

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Apple has managed to sell 1 million iPads in just under a month (28 days to be accurate)! This beat the original iPhone’s first launch figures.

Tablet was here for years. Only Apple can make it a popular form of computer gadget.

For me iPad is just a bigger version of iPod touch (except 3G). I’m iPod user since 2 years ago. It works perfect to suit my needs in pocket. I seldom carry bag, iPad might not convenient to carry along the day.

You might not agree with me. Tell me why you want an iPad? ;) I would like to hear from you.

MobileMe is a paid service that keep your email, contacts, calendar in the web and sync across your Mac devices automatically. It now cost $99 USD per year for 20GB disk space.

Rumor said Apple going to provide the service FREE! But no time frame was given, other than: “sooner than later… depends on certain facilities going operational.” (more…)
