Review: iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Generation

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

After unbox the iPod Touch 2nd Gen excitedly, I start transfer all data over from old iPod. Basically, the 2nd Gen almost same with 1st Gen. Of course it is better than its predecessor. Other wise nobody will buy it.

What’s new in iPod TOuch 2nd Gen? Main different is build-in speaker. But sad to say that the speaker is under expectation. The sound come out from ear phone jack hole, no dedicated speaker. Sound quality is soft and no surround. Anyway, it is better than no speaker.

Other than that, the sleek stainless steel design make it more stylist. The stainless steel cover up to front cover edge. Its curved design feel better on hand, like an iPhone 3G.

Another noticeable enhancement is the performance. I’m not sure the processor chipset use in 2nd gen. But can feel it load application faster. (more…)

Free iPod Touch 2nd Generation + LiveSpeakR

Monday, February 9th, 2009

As you know I have received my gift last week: an iPod touch 2nd generation and a LiveSpeakr (Can’t believe I won 2 iPod Touch huh? One iPod touch each year). I got these gifts free, as first prize winner in the contest at LiveSpeakR. Take this opportunity to say a big big thanks to LiveSpeakR for their vehement.

Fortunately, the gifts arrive my home safely. This time no handling fee and tedious procedure at custom. I think this maybe due to its normal US mail delivery system. Although it is not so safe (compare to UPS delivery), but it arrive on my hand from US just within a week time. Faster than what I expect!

iPod Touch 2nd Gen, LiveSpeakR Overview

Just give my first impression on iPod Touch 2nd Generation and the brand new LiveSpeakR. Will write post in more detail review later. The market price for the 2 items are $229 (iPod touch 8GB 2nd Gen) and $99 (LiveSpeakR). Total price of $328 USD, but I got them Free! Yes I like Free things.

Basically iPod Touch 2nd Generation almost the same with iPod Touch 1st Generation. The main difference is new iPod touch has a build-in speaker. Its sleek new design with stainless steel make it thinner and feel better in your hand.

For who don’t know LiveSpeakR, it is a brand new ultra portable speaker solution. Designed for use with the iPhone and iPod Touch. My first impression is: The sound bigger than it’s size, like a mini Hifi system! (more…)

New Google Toolbar Copy Chrome Interface

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Quite some time I didn’t update my blog. Too many things happen recently. Now my blogging life should come back as normal, perhaps.

Google release a second beta of its toolbar software that copy Chrome browser interface for Firefox. In Chrome, when you open new tab, it show you “Most Visited” site with thumbnail for selection.

The new Google toolbar 5 (beta) make your Firefox do the same thing. Not only that, but also shows “Recent Bookmarks” and “Recent closed tabs” as screen shot below.

Eventually, this feature already available in Opera browser before Chrome. So it is not a new thing. (more…)
