Make Money Online of the Year 2008

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Today just withdraw my Adsense money via Western Union at 3.588 high exchange rate from USD to RM.I’m so happy Western Union is available everywhere even I’m not home can wihtdraw easily.

Only thing is there is only one CIMB bank in Kuala Terengganu and it was so clouded! They don’t have special counter for Western Union. Took me an hour for the 29 people long queue.

My blog only start making some money after few months blogging. On January 2008, my blog just earn few bucks a month! Ya, I know it is so little. After a year, it is so much different. Compare to earning this month (January 2009), it is roughly 50x (50 times) earning of last year same month.

The earning is not that much you think. But I’m quite satisfied with it. I hope it could be more after Google give me back my PR. Hopefully could achieve at least half of my salary this year. :)

Let’s compare the graph for the past one year of 2008.

Nokia Mobile Geotag Photo + Flickr

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

I’m back to Kuala Terengganu again for a week long holiday. No special plan this time. Just hanging around with family member, brother and sister.

With the help of Nokia N82 and Garmin MobileXT v5, I manage to find the shortest distance. Many times I wanted to use Jerangau road (shorter road) but failed, because cannot find the entrance. The seaside road took me at least 7.5 to 8 hours driving time for all passed years. But the Jerangau road only took me around 6.30 to 7 hours of driving time. Save me at least 1 hour!

Nothing much to say about Kuala Terengganu this time. You could see my intro on last post here. I have snap some photos with geotag feature on. I want you to see what I saw, as well as experience the environment along the trip. Click on my travel map (on Flickr) and follow me to travel.

Perhaps I should upload geotag photo during my travel from now on. More fun when flip back those memorable photos. And as a reference for other travelers.

How to geotag and integrate with Flickr service? Easy. You need to switch ON geotag feature (or name as Record Location) in phone camera setting. Use ShoZu (for Symbian mobile phone) direct upload your geotagged photo. Of course have to turn ON GPS tagging before upload. Goto ShoZU > Settings > Sending > GPS Tagging > ON. (more…)

Youtube Offers Direct Video Download

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

There are so many 3rd party online tools that help us to download Youtube video for offline viewing. But some of them are slow during conversion. How good it will be if Youtube provide direct video download service.

This is the first time for such “download” option appear in Youtube. The new option gives users a full-quality H.264 file (in .MP4 format). You can copy the video directly into iPod or iPhone for offline viewing.

The good? This is free service with no charge. The download link “Click to Download” appear left below the video box. Click it and start download directly without user login. Of course the video quality is the best compare to those rippers and downloaders.

Microsoft Mobile Tag Technology

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Barcode tag is one of the common tag system in daily products. Don’t believe? Check your keyboard bottom, you should see a barcode tag. Not only electronic products, tag even exist on your shampoo, lotion, drink can, etc.

Normal barcode tag look like image below. I have experiment to scan barcode on screen, but failed. The class II laser light reflect from monitor and unable to decode barcode. Normal barcode tag must print out hard copy (either paper or sticker label) in order for scan.

3 dimension (3D) barcode scanner used in Watson, Guardian store more info and easier to scan. But still lack in data manipulation and cannot use in common device. Since then I keep an eye to see if any better barcode tag system solution.

Microsoft Mobile Tag Technology

The new Microsoft Tag technology invented by Microsoft Research solve problem mention above. Microsoft Tag construct with 4 colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) call High Capacity Color Barcodes (HCCBs). It is a mobile tagging. Which mean not only provide basic information, but any mobile content that you store online.

When you scan Microsoft Tag in real life, it bring you information that access from Internet. (more…)

Download Free Microsoft Windows 7

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

The new hot awaiting OS: Microsoft Windows 7 beta is now available for free download. Beta testers should be able to answer how the new Windows perform.

Talk about Windows 7, we all doubt on its statement in my previous post. Anyway, Microsoft claim they listen to us for the past few years and build the new Windows 7 faster, more reliable and easier to do what you want. Download, setup and try out Windows 7 at your own should answer you up to certain extend.

Before heading to the download page, let’s check out the minimum recommended specs:

  • CPU: 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • RAM: 1 GB of system memory
  • HDD: 16 GB of available disk space
  • Graphic card: Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
  • DVD-R/W Drive
  • Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)

If your computer meet the minimum requirements, then heading to the Microsoft Official Windows 7 download page. Register yourself as Beta tester and download the DVD ISO. It should provide you an activation key to activate your Windows 7 evaluation copy. Although there are lots of leaked BT download, I still recommend to download from Microsoft Official latest build release (Of course, try at your own risk). (more…)
